And while I wish I could write a blog post complete with a six-step process for guaranteeing your success (ha, if only!), the truth is a little more complex.
You see, there isn’t just one (or six) things that make clients want to work with you.
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of tiny details that connect you with your audience and position you as THE business and brand of their dreams.
The good news? A whole bunch of those tiny details are conjured up by your brand style.
‘Brand style’ is a term that graphic designers, branding specialists, web designers and copywriters use to explain how a business portrays themselves.
Your brand style is designed to appeal to your dream audience by humanising your brand giving them a solid entity to connect with.
The best brand style is the one that fits your business like a glove and gives your audience a compelling reason to get to know you better.
It also makes your business wholly unforgettable and undeniably irresistible.
• Your business values and philosophy
• The mood you want to provoke
• The emotions you want to evoke
• The experience you’d like to offer
• Want you want to be known for
• How you want to be seen
• On your social media
• In your sales material
• In your marketing material
• On your business cards and printed collateral
… Basically, everywhere your business has a presence!
Much like a person’s unique style is made of a myriad of elements like their hairstyle, hair colour, clothes, posture, make-up, body language, communication style and even nail polish, your brand style is comprised of a variety of individual elements too.
• Logo
• Colour palette
• Fonts and typography
• Patterns and textures
• Photography
• Illustrations
• Copy (aka words)
• Communication and content
Every single element works in harmony to express your brand style.
Because whether your brand is cute, colourful and quirky or calm, minimal and quiet, your brand style is one of the pathways to making your dream clients want to work with you.
